I want to begin by saying something to my friends at ServiceNow who have been laid off over the last few weeks: I'm sorry. News like that doesn't just disrupt a career — it can shake your sense of stability, your plans, the story you had for the next chapter. That kind of sudden change is disorienting in ways that are hard to explain to people who haven't lived it. And of course, my concern isn't limited to ServiceNow. If you're in the middle of a job search right now, for any reason, this is for you.
I've been there. I know what it's like to have browser tabs open across four different job boards, a notes app full of company names, and a gnawing feeling that you've already applied somewhere but can't remember if you followed up. The job search is hard enough without the cognitive overhead of tracking it all.
So I wanted to help in a practical way. I worked with Claude and Grok to build a simple, free job tracker — a tool to keep your search organized without getting in your way.
Here's what it does:
Dashboard — See all the companies you're targeting and the jobs you've applied to in one place.

Kanban view — Move opportunities through stages visually so you can see at a glance what's active, what's stalled, and what needs attention.

Opportunity detail — Track contacts at each company, notes from conversations, and next steps — as much or as little as is useful to you.

It's free. It's yours. No login, no friction.
If you're a developer and want to add features or fork it for your own use, the repo is open: github.com/isaacchiles/job-tracker
I'll keep adding to it. But I'd rather get something useful into your hands now than wait until it's perfect.
The job search is genuinely hard. I hope this makes even a small part of it a little less so. Wishing you momentum and the right landing.
